Set Up Visitor Kiosk Devices - Pairing, Resume & Reassign

Set Up Kiosk Devices

Kiosk devices are the tablets visitors use for self-service check-in. Pair them with your Infodeck organization, assign them to a location, and manage them from the Devices tab.

Quick Summary

Go to Visitor ManagementDevices. Click Pair Device, select a location, and enter the 6-digit code on the tablet.

Device Types

TypeUse for
Visitor ReceptionSelf-service visitor check-in at a reception desk or lobby. Assigned to a location (site, sublocation, or zone)
Meeting RoomRoom-specific kiosk for meeting room check-in. Assigned to a specific facility/room

Pair a New Device

  1. Go to Visitor Management Devices
  2. Click Pair Device
  3. Select the device type (Visitor Reception or Meeting Room)
  4. Select the location this device will serve
  5. A 6-digit pairing code appears along with a QR code
  6. On the tablet, open the kiosk setup page
  7. Enter the 6-digit code or scan the QR code
  8. The tablet exchanges the code for a secure device token and connects

The pairing code expires after 15 minutes. If it expires, cancel and generate a new one.

Lost Device

Device pairing creates a secure token that is stored only on the tablet. If a device is lost or stolen, revoke it immediately from the Devices tab — the tablet will be blocked from making any further check-in requests.

Resume Interrupted Setup

If pairing was interrupted (tablet lost connection, browser closed, timeout):

  1. Go to Devices
  2. Find the pending pairing entry
  3. The pairing can be resumed if the code has not expired
  4. If the code expired, cancel the pending entry and generate a new pairing code

Reassign a Device to a Different Location

If a kiosk tablet needs to move to a different reception area:

  1. Go to Devices
  2. Find the device in the list
  3. Click Edit or Update
  4. Select the new location
  5. Save

The device continues to work with the same token. No need to revoke and re-pair.

Revoke a Device

If a device is lost, stolen, or no longer needed:

  1. Go to Devices
  2. Find the device
  3. Click Revoke

The device is immediately blocked from making any further requests. Any visitor trying to use that tablet will see a connection error.

Cancel a Pending Pairing

If a pairing code was generated but never used:

  1. Go to Devices
  2. Find the pending pairing entry
  3. Click Cancel

The pairing code is invalidated immediately.
