How to Update Company Profile

Configure your organization's basic information including address, timezone, and currency for accurate reporting and scheduling.

Quick Summary

Go to Settings gear → Company Profile to update your organization address, timezone, and currency settings.


Before You Begin

Requirements
  • You must be an Organization Admin or Owner
  • Or have the organizations:update permission

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Company Profile

  1. Click the Settings gear () at the bottom of the sidebar
  2. Select Company Profile

Step 2: Review Organization Information

You'll see your organization's current settings:

Read-Only Fields

Organization Name and Organization URL are set during registration and cannot be changed. Contact Infodeck Support if you need to modify these.

Step 3: Update Organization VAT (Optional)

  1. Click the Organization VAT field
  2. Enter your company's VAT or tax ID number
  3. This appears on invoices and reports

Step 4: Update Organization Address

  1. Click the Organization Address field
  2. Enter your complete business address
  3. This is used for correspondence and documentation

Step 5: Set Timezone

  1. Click the Timezone dropdown
  2. Search or scroll to find your timezone
  3. Select the appropriate timezone
Why Timezone Matters

The timezone setting affects:

  • Due dates displayed on work orders
  • Notification timing for overdue task alerts
  • Report timestamps and scheduling
  • SLA calculations for time-based metrics

Step 6: Set Currency

  1. Click the Currency dropdown
  2. Search or select your preferred currency
  3. This currency is used organization-wide

Currency applies to:

  • Labor cost calculations
  • Work order cost tracking
  • Financial reports
  • Budget widgets on dashboards

Step 7: Save Changes

  1. Review your updates
  2. Click the Save Change button
  3. You'll see a success message confirming your changes

Real-World Examples

Example 1: Set Up a New Organization

Situation: You just registered your facilities management company and need to configure the basic profile.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings gear → Company Profile
  2. Enter Organization VAT: GB123456789
  3. Enter Organization Address: 123 Business Park, London, UK
  4. Set Timezone: Europe/London
  5. Set Currency: GBP - British Pound
  6. Click Save Change

Result: Your organization is configured with UK settings, and all work orders, reports, and costs will use GMT timezone and British Pounds.


Example 2: Update Timezone for Remote Team

Situation: Your facilities team operates across multiple locations, but you want all scheduling based on headquarters timezone.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings gear → Company Profile
  2. Change Timezone to your headquarters timezone (e.g., America/New_York)
  3. Click Save Change

Result: All due dates and notifications are now based on Eastern Time, providing consistency for scheduling across your distributed team.


Example 3: Change Currency for Financial Reporting

Situation: Your company has switched reporting currency from USD to EUR for alignment with European operations.

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings gear → Company Profile
  2. Change Currency from USD - US Dollar to EUR - Euro
  3. Click Save Change

Result: All labor costs, work order expenses, and financial reports now display in Euros.
