Understanding Notification Channels

Infodeck delivers notifications through two channels: Email and Mobile Push. Learn how each works and how to set them up.

Email Notifications

How It Works

  • Sent to your registered email address
  • Includes full context and details
  • Contains direct links to Infodeck
  • Creates an audit trail for record-keeping

Setting Up

  1. Verify your email address is correct in your profile
  2. Enable Email toggles in notification preferences
  3. Add noreply@infodeck.io to your safe senders list

Mobile Push Notifications

How It Works

  • Sent to the Infodeck mobile app
  • Appears on your lock screen
  • Works even when the app is closed
  • Tap to open directly to the related item

Setting Up (iOS)

  1. Download Infodeck from the App Store
  2. Log in to your account
  3. When prompted, tap Allow for notifications
  4. Or enable later: Settings → Infodeck → Notifications → Allow Notifications

  1. Download Infodeck from Google Play
  2. Log in to your account
  3. When prompted, tap Allow for notifications
  4. Or enable later: Settings → Apps → Infodeck → Notifications → Enable

Example 1: Desktop-Focused User

Recommended Setup:

  • Mobile Push: ☐ Disable (not needed at desk)

Situation: User getting the same notification on both channels feels overwhelming.

Recommended Setup:

  • Choose one primary channel per notification type
  • Use Email for things you can review later
  • Use Mobile Push for things needing immediate action

Result: Notifications reach you without feeling duplicated.
